Canada's updated Front-of-Package (FOP) nutrition labelling regulations require certain prepackaged foods to display a symbol on the front of their packaging if they are high in sodium, sugars, or saturated fat. This initiative aims to help consumers make more informed food choices quickly.

There are thresholds dependent on product type, and a limited list of exceptions for certain food products. All regulated parties must comply with these new requirements by January 1, 2026. Products manufactured, imported, or packaged at retail before January 1, 2026 may remain in warehouses and continue being sold on store shelves until stock is depleted.
